Welcoming a new puppy into your home is exciting — and a little overwhelming. At Perfect Pooches Dog Training & Grooming, our Puppy Kindergarten classes help you lay the right foundation with early training, positive socialization, and structured support.



Led by experienced trainer Evelyn Sera, our puppy program gives young dogs the tools they need to grow into confident, calm, and well-mannered companions. With 25+ years of dog training experience in Southern Alberta, we’ve helped hundreds of puppies and their owners thrive through their most formative months.

About Our Puppy Classes

Our Puppy Kindergarten class is designed for puppies aged 3 to 8 months. We focus on socialization, communication, and obedience — while creating fun, positive experiences that shape long-term behavior.

Class Format:

6 sessions total

First class is a Home Visit.

Five 1-hour group classes with puppies

Max 6 puppies per group for personalized attention

What Puppies & Owners Learn

Our puppy training classes go beyond basic commands. We teach practical behaviors and build essential life skills that every dog needs to succeed in a modern home.

Skills Taught:

• Sit, down, and stay
• Recall (come when called)
• Walking on a loose leash
• Developing self-control
• Responding to their name
• Managing distractions
• Social manners with dogs and people
• Addressing problem puppy behaviors:
• Mouthing and nipping
• Barking and jumping
• Overexcitement
  

We also help owners understand how to reinforce good habits, prevent future behavior issues, and continue their puppy’s learning outside of class.

Foundation Agility & Confidence Building

To support mental engagement and physical development, our puppy classes also introduce beginner agility elements and confidence-building exercises.

Your puppy will try:

• Going through tunnels
• Climbing small ramps or platforms
• Navigating simple obstacle challenges
• Playing games that encourage coordination and thinking
  

These activities help build:

• Body awareness and coordination
• Confidence in unfamiliar environments
• Stronger handler focus
• Problem-solving skills and resilience
  

By blending obedience with enrichment, our program helps puppies develop into well-rounded, balanced dogs.
